Diploma in medical laboratory sciences requirements & campuses
A diploma in medical laboratory science is a three-year diploma course that equips students with theoretical and practical skills in performing medical diagnostic tests, laboratory management, and supporting doctors and clinicians in making medical decisions.
As a medical laboratory technologist, you can work in hospital/clinical diagnostic laboratories, private practice, biotechnology labs, forensics, and in any other work environment where your skills can be applied.
The course is regulated by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board, a body that registers and licenses medical laboratory practitioners as well as medical laboratories.
KMTC requirements for a diploma in medical laboratory science technology
To be eligible for admission into the course, you are required to meet the following requirements.
- A KCSE mean grade of C plain or above
- C plain in English/Kiswahili
- C plain in biology
- C plain in Chemistry
- C plain in either mathematics or physics
