KMTC application guide 2025 (Certificate and Diploma)

We believe you have done intensive research on the medical courses you’d like to persue. Incase not, no worries. We have an easy to use KMTC course finder. all you have to do is enter your KCSE mean grade and discover all KMTC courses you are eligible for.
Wondering on how to sucessfully submit your KMTC application? We’ve got you. before we proceed, not that all KMTC applications for certificate and diploma courses (Goverment sponsored) are done through the KUCCPS portal. The KMTC application portal is reserved for scholarships, short courses, and higher diploma courses applications.
KMTC intakes
The Kenya medical training college have two major intakes per year i.e May and septermber intake. Applications are open prior to the admission month on the KUCCPS portal.
For example, may intake application window usually opens shortly after the release of KCSE exams while the september intake usually opens in July. In between, the applications there is a course revision window for student who didn’t secure placement. However, course available for revision are thos that were not filled.
For example, KMTC Nakuru campus have 30 slots for diploma in pharmacy for March intake and only 20 Students applied for the course in the campus, the course will be available for revision only that this time, they will be looking to fill the ramaining 10 slots.
Kenya Medical Training College Application process
We will be focusing on KMTC application through the KUCCPS portal for diploma and certificate courses applicants. If you are applying for higher diploma, available scholarships, or short courses, you can apply through the KMTC application portal.
To submit your application through KUCCPS, follow the following process.
- Visit the KUCCPS application portal.
- Login using your KCSE index number, your KCSE year, and your KCPE index number or birth certificate number as your password. Note that you don’t have to create an account since the required information already exists in the database and is unique to you.
- Once logged in, go to KMTC programs.
- Select your preffered courses and note down their unique codes. Every institution have a unique code for every course they have on offer. For example, the program code diploma in Kenya registered community health nursing at KMTC Nairobi is 5000K04 while the code for the same course at Nakuru campus is 5005K04. Did you note the difference? Also, Note you can only apply for a maximum of three courses. Here is the breakdown. Your first option should be One course in three different campus. i.e, you can apply for diploma in clinical medicine and surgery at Nakuru campus (Option 1a), Nairobi campus (Option 1b), and Thika campus (Option 1c). Enter your Option 2 course i.e Diploma in nursing, and option 3 i.e diploma in healthcare insurance management.
- Once you are comfortable with your selection, click apply and follow the provided prompts.
- Note that you will be required to pay an application fee of Ksh 1,500.
Application requirements
To apply for courses, you are required to meet all the KCSE requirements for your preffered course. You application cannot succeed, if you do not meet the KCSE mean grade and specific subject requirements for your selected courses.
